RCIA: The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults Description: RCIA is a process of prayer, discernment, discussion and study for adults who are interested in becoming members of the Catholic faith community. This year-long process is for un-baptized adults and for baptized Christians of other faiths. Catholics who were baptized but who have not received the sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation are also invited to be part of this process. RCIA begins in late August with a morning retreat. Candidates are interviewed during the summer as they prepare for this process. Weekly gatherings begin in late August and continue through to early May. Volunteer Position: As a member of St. Catherine of Siena parish, you can be a prayer partner for a person in the RCIA. You can also volunteer your baking skills to create a snack for our Wednesday evening gatherings. Contact: Sister Kathleen Beatty SSJ: 727.531.7721 (Parish Office) |
