Sacristans
Description: Humble service. Maintain the plans of the liturgical planning teams for the seasonal environment of the liturgical year and prepare the necessary furnishings, etc. for the various ministries... presiders, deacons, servers, Eucharistic ministers, readers, etc.
Requirements: The ability to anticipate what is needed; an attitude of reverence and humility; an awareness of what is happening not only in the sanctuary but also in the congregation.
Time Commitment: Approximately two hours per Mass.
Helpful Attributes: Attentiveness to surroundings...the needs of the presiders and all who participate in the liturgy. Good health, organizational skills, ability to cope with unusual circumstances, ability to follow directions.
Activities: Setting up the sacred vessels and linens for Mass. Maintaining neatness of sacristies and church.
